Bahlsen’s baked goods stand for enjoyment and love of life. For generations – more than 125 years now – the sweet pleasure of biscuits has been associated with the Bahlsen name. The unmistakable taste, the consistently high quality and trust in the product have made Bahlsen what it is today: a successful and modern family company. We are one of the largest family-run biscuit enterprises in the world.
By 1891 the company’s most famous product, Leibniz Cakes (keks), is introduced onto the market. As it is common practice to name food products after public figures, Hermann Bahlsen names his cake after Hanover’s well-known inhabitant: Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716). Today Bahlsen produces wide range of biscuits and satisfies demand of wide audience, with unique taste and high quality, proven by time.
Bahlsen today produces its branded products at 5 sites in Europe and exports its products to over 80 countries. With a labor force of nearly 2,500 worldwide, the company’s annual turnover is in excess of £400 million. The company owes this strong position to a history going back more than 125 years.
